To the
Unthanked

There are people whose work is only visible when it fails. When they do their job perfectly, nothing happens. The water is clean. The bridge holds. The clocks agree. The day arrives, ordinary, and is spent without a thought for the hands that made it ordinary.

Nobody applauds a disaster that never occurred. So this wall was raised for the ones who prevent them, quietly, on schedule, for their whole working lives.

Rest your hand on any name to leave a thanks. A small notch will stay lit, here, on your own device only. No one else will ever see it. That is the point.

No one keeps a record of the days when nothing went wrong. There is no ledger of the floods that stayed in the pipes, the fires that stayed in the wiring, the midnight calls that were answered. This wall is the closest thing.

If you never noticed them,
they were excellent.
